Eric Lambin

Professor Eric Lambin is a member of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission. He is a geographer at both Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and Stanford University in the US. His current research tries to understand how globalization affects global land use, and how private and public regulations of land use interact to promote more sustainable land use practices.

Antonio Loprieno

Professor Antonio Loprieno is the chair of the Board of SAPEA and president of ALLEA. An Egyptologist and linguist by training, he has a parallel distinguished career in academic leadership, having served as Rector of the University of Basel, president of the Austrian Science Board, and president of the Swiss Academy of Arts and Sciences, among many senior positions.
