In this webinar we will address the following questions: What would a 'centralised AI Centre' look like and what are its advantages/disadvantages? Do some countries already have centralized AI Centres? What are the differences regarding that from a regional perspective?

Our discussions will be inspired by recent reports issued by the Scientific Advice Mechanism to the European Commission on the request of the College of Commissioners and the ISC Centre for Science Futures. The former consist of two reports focusing on a question ‘How can the European Commission accelerate a responsible uptake of Artificial Intelligence in science (including providing access to high-quality Al, respecting European Values) in order to boost the EU's innovation and prosperity, strengthen the EU's position in science, and ultimately contribute to solving Europe's societal challenges?” were published on 15 April: https://scientificadvice.eu/advice/artificial-intelligence-in-science/ The latter tackles a knowledge gap in the field.
