The roundtable will be opened by two scientists at the forefront of AI use in science: prof. Nicole Grobert, professor of nanomaterials at the University of Oxford and chair of the Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM) of the European Commission; and prof. Francisco J. Doblas-Reyes, head of the earth science department at Barcelona Supercomputing Center and lead author of IPCC fifth and sixth assessment report. We are delighted to announce that Valeriya Ionan, deputy minister for Eurointegration in the ministry of digital transformation of Ukraine will intervene remotely in the panel discussion, alongside Joshua Parker, senior director for corporate sustainability at NVIDIA and Liviu Stirbat, head of the industry 5.0 and AI in science unit, directorate-general for research and innovation in the European Commission. Finally, European Commission deputy director-general of research and innovation Signe Ratso will deliver the closing remarks.
