SAPEA is playing a major role in providing timely, independent and evidence-based expertise on the topic of food from the oceans within the Scientific Advice Mechanism.
The work on this topic is in response to a request from the College of European Commissioners, led by Commissoner Vella, for scientific advice from the SAM High Level Group.
The formation of a scientific opinion on this topic is expected by the end of 2017.
