In-person event
The event aimed at raising awareness about microplastics pollution, its impact on the environment and the steps that should be taken to improve the situation.
SAPEA was represented by two working group members; Prof. Elda Marku who discussed facts and myths surrounding microplastics, and Dr Gabriela Kalčikova who presented the overview of the SAPEA report, with the man focus on microplastics in nature. The scientific sessions were followed by a round table discussion on national priorities and challenges regarding microplastics.
The event was attended representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Municipality of Tirana, as well as representatives of Albanian universities and numerous students from the University of Tirana.
